Caring for Ollie and Alfie involved maintaining a clean, calm environment while following feeding and care routines carefully. I monitored their behaviour closely, ensuring they were comfortable, eating well and settled throughout the sit.

I've known Ollie and Alfie since they were kits as they are my best friend's dwarf rabbits. When I let them out for exercise (or when anyone lets them out of their house), they’d hide behind a bush in the garden. Which is one of the very few places that I couldn’t reach, so I had to entice them out or find a thing long enough to try and move them out, very cheeky and adorable.

Looking after rabbits reinforced how prey animals communicate subtly — and how attentive, low-impact care plays a crucial role in their sense of safety.

Caring for Ollie and Alfie was a rewarding experience, giving me both practical skills in small animal care and a deeper appreciation for the responsibilities of animal husbandry.
