This weekend, I spent a cosy overnight stay with three lovely dogs—Anya, Kiki, and Patrick. They’re sweet siblings, and I cared for them from late Saturday morning through to Sunday afternoon.
It was raining heavily on both the meet and greet and the first day of the sit, but I still made the long walk over — completely worth it once I was curled up with Anya, Kiki, and Patrick for the weekend.
Despite the constant rain and fog, it was a very gentle, peaceful visit spent inside, just as their carers had expected—they aren’t fans of wet weather! They happily snoozed through most of Saturday, snuggled up in their favourite spots.
During my stay, I provided full care, including toilet breaks, feeding (half raw, half kibble), fresh water, enrichment, playtime, and overnight supervision.

Anya 💛
Anya is a sweetheart who adores attention—belly rubs, gentle fuss, and as many cuddles as she can get. She brought me her dinosaur toy multiple times, excited for tug-of-war and a little fetch to burn off some energy. Since we couldn’t go out for a walk in the rain, I made sure she still got some fun and stimulation indoors. She was such good company all evening.

Kiki 💗
Kiki’s carers mentioned that she usually keeps her distance from new sitters—so I felt really honoured when she greeted me so warmly. During the meet and greet, she let me give her a gentle stroke, and when I arrived for the sitting session, she hopped onto the sofa beside me and gave me little kisses straight away.
Later, she climbed onto my lap in their armchair, curled up, and fell fast asleep after giving me more kisses. She was incredibly affectionate the entire visit, which made the day feel even more special.

Patrick 💚
Patrick is a sensitive, anxious boy—especially at this time of year with fireworks nearby. When I arrived, he barked a little to show off, but once he settled, he slept peacefully for most of our time together.
Because he can become uneasy during firework season and sometimes needs medication, I kept a close eye on him throughout the night. He rested comfortably and seemed reassured by having someone quietly nearby.

🚽 Providing toilet breaks and monitoring bathroom habits
🎲 Offering enrichment, play, and comfort throughout the day
💤 Overnight supervision and emotional support
🌧️ Adjusting care to weather and their caregivers’ preferences (no outdoor walks in heavy rain)
🩺 Monitoring Patrick’s anxiety during fireworks season
📸 Sending regular updates to their caregivers
Key Skills Developed:
🐾 Multi-dog care: Managing the needs and personalities of three dogs simultaneously
💛 Building trust with anxious pets: Supporting Patrick through anxiety and fireworks season
🐶 Rapid bond-building: Encouraging affection and comfort from typically reserved dogs (like Kiki)
🌧️ Flexible care planning: Adapting routines due to weather and caregiver preferences
🛌 Overnight supervision: Maintaining a calm, reassuring environment across night stays
🗣️ Client communication: Providing regular updates and well-being checks
I loved spending time with these three. It was a calm, gentle weekend full of cosy naps, cuddles, and very sweet personalities. I’m really grateful their carers trusted me with their little family.
Note: Although this was my second Rover booking, my very first client actually booked me for late February to early March 2026, meaning Anya, Kiki, and Patrick were the first pups I had the pleasure of sitting for in person.
