Caring for Gurty and Harley involved balancing two distinct personalities within a shared routine. I managed feeding, toilet breaks, and play while making sure each dog received individual attention and reassurance.
Gurty is my older sisterās Labrador-Collie cross, adopted when she was two years old. I have known her since 2015, and she has been an important part of the family ever since.
Harley is my oldest sisterās Collie-Labrador cross, who I have known since she was a puppy in 2020. The two dogs are very close, reflecting the close bond between my sisters. This was my first experience providing care for two dogs at the same time.
Spending time with them highlighted the importance of reading subtle behavioural cues and adopting energy level throughout the day ā offering stimulation when needed and calm presence when rest was more appropriate.

They played tug of war with a stuffed seal and even span around in a circle side by side while playing.
Pet sitting Gurty and Harley together gave me valuable experience in multi-pet care. Providing enrichment and companionship for two closely bonded dogs at once strengthened my confidence in handling more complex pet sitting responsibilities.
